#43 ~ Exaggerating Idiosyncrasies

20191012_222711+(3).jpg

The fires are burning in another land as I once again visit with Vince Corda, drummer extraordinaire for The Genesis Show, a South Jersey based cover band that continues to grow fans and expand venues as they faithfully recreate the ’81 Abacab and ‘82 Encore tours. It’s a slippery set list that until now was rarely played live, and never with such enthusiastic passion and satiating precision since the original members of Genesis performed the songs themselves.

This episode is a veritable Who Dunnit as we learn about the band’s new bassist, dig up a Dodo, resolve a rhetorical riddle, resurrect the Lamb, expose some extraterrestrials, serenade a Duchess, and wax nostalgic while basking in the fire’s Afterglow. Vince knows what he likes, and I like what he knows. It’s getting better in this episode, stepping one beyond your show.

When Brian was still in college, and I was just a rookie teacher, he came to me for tutoring, and we fast became friends. Since then we’ve only communicated online. Now, for the first time in thirteen years, we reunite in person for a dialogue that’s worthy of the occasion.

#32 ~ The Inverse of Heckling

In Part 2 of my conversation with Carl, we discuss morphic resonance via genetic ancestry, what’s before the afterlife, aquaphobia and sharks, being heckled by T.J. Miller, setting boundaries with clingy friends, sneaking a road trip, bootleg toys, how childhood shows taught us metaphysics, and what our girlfriends were like as kids.

#31 ~ Quality Time in the 21st Century

Carl returns for a riveting two-part podcast. In this episode, we discuss the joy of solitude, awkward social situations, a cross-country adventure, paranoia vs. pronoia, alpha male posturing, solo holidays, teleportation, and recording our present experiences for the future simulation that we may be living in right now.

#30 ~ An Overcooked Underdog

It’s time to recap all the craziness that’s occurred on this hiatus, and process any pertinent revelations that may prepare us for the Impending Earth Changes.

#29 ~ The Guest is the Host

FullSizeR1.jpg

Kevin marks his second visit to the podcast by taking over as host, and turning me into the interviewee.  In true therapeutic form, we start off discussing my mother, and end up  reflecting on the recent loss of my brother.  Along the way, we venture to deconstruct what constitutes "genius," examine how habitual resistance prevents creative bliss, and attempt to differentiate authentic joy from absolute mania.

#28 ~ The Genesis Show

Vince Corda relishes his role as “Chester Thompson” in The Genesis Show, a suddenly successful cover band from the Vineland area of southern New Jersey. Vince's sheer enthusiasm sets our beat as he explains how/why The Genesis Show formed, brief bios on the members, and the dedication that went into recreating each song to near perfection.

#27 ~ Total Game Changers

What do Donald Trumpayahuascaquantum entanglementsentient artificial intelligence, the production of new Dune films, and real-time virtual masturbation all have in common? My good friend and fellow life form, Argus Minyan, graciously offers his potent, psychonauticpowers to help us crack the craziest of all crazy conspiracy theories

#24 ~ Psalm 555

Anthony Oliver makes his second non-corporeal appearance on the one year anniversary of The Opus Marcus Podcast

For your edification, this episode was lovingly prerecorded from the future by a cloud of time traveling nanobots who transmute Anthony's rants into powerfully pertinent prognostications.

Afterward, I read aloud an instruction manual for the  craziest 8-bit video game never played.
