Bruce is a pancreatic cancer survivor who has inspired dozens of others by his refusal to succumb to negativity and hopelessness.  He and his wife Linda (also a cancer survivor) are active participants in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.  Together they conduct Purple Stride fundraisers, present speeches to patients, and advocate for legislative support.

Chris and I were college roommates until he moved to Germany,  where he's lived ever since.  He's currently a Lecturer in English at Universität Kassel.   We spent a sunny Sunday afternoon in my backyard, drinking wine and discussing the current political climate, the endangered state of grammar, qualitative versus quantitative highs, and living for experiences without expectations.
