My mom makes a holiday visit, and graciously recorded this end-of-year episode for posterity. After losing her husband five years ago, and her son less than year ago, Maria spends her time between grieving and healing. Nevertheless, as this short but sweet conversation confirms, she has lost neither her wisdom nor her wit.

Maria is a retired 5th grade Reading and Social Studies teacher, who was affectionately known by her students as Mrs. D—The Dragonlady.
